To Assign a Permission to a Role

You can assign a permission either by associating the permission to the role, or by associating the role to the permission, whichever is more convenient.

Open the System Admin tab (View > System Administration).
Click the Security icon .
Do one of the following:
1. Expand the Roles folder.
2. Expand the Permissions folder, then expand the subfolder containing the permission you want to assign.
3. Drag a role from the Roles folder onto the permission you want.
  You may have to refresh to see the change. No save is required after this operation.
or
1. Expand the Roles folder.
2. Expand the Permissions folder, then expand the subfolder containing the permission you want to assign.
3. Click the permission you want, which opens the permission in the Content pane.
4. Expand the Security Roles topic of the permission.
5. Drag a role from the Roles folder onto the Security Roles topic. You can also click the Query Roles link in the Security Roles topic to search for the role(s) you want, then drag one or more roles from the search results into the Security Roles topic.
6. Save the change.
or
1. Expand the Permissions folder, then expand the subfolder containing the permission you want to assign.
2. Expand the Roles folder.
3. Click the role you want, which opens the role in the Content pane.
4. Expand the Permissions topic of the role.
5. Drag the permission from the System Admin tab onto the Permissions topic.
6. Save the change.
